Tin Building Food Market

Plaza Construction was selected to construct the new Landmark Tin Building that features a striking glass facade and provide spectacular views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines. The reconstructed landmark, three-story building, once the Fulton Fish Market, (one of the world’s largest fish markets) is the home of celebrity chef JeanGeorges Vongerichten’s curated food market. The food market is a seafoodthemed food hall and fish market with various restaurants.

The original structure was dismantled and moved about 33 feet east from its original location. Part of the relocation were practical upgrades, like flood resiliency protections and cosmetic improvements. It also moved the building slightly away from FDR Drive allowing for a less obstructed view of the structure and a more appealing public plaza at its entrance.

The Tin Building is a National Register of Historic Places of the South Street Seaport historic district.
